Visa Announced as Title Partner for Sri Lanka FinTech Festival 2026
Visa has been named Title Partner of the inaugural Sri Lanka FinTech Festival 2026, organised by FinTech Forum Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy. The event will be presented as Sri Lanka FinTech Festival 2026 powered by Visa and will take place on 2nd and 3rd November 2026 at the Shangri-La Colombo.
Centered on the theme “Building Capacity and Creating Opportunities to Scale Sri Lanka’s Digital Future,” the festival aims to position Sri Lanka as an emerging FinTech and digital economy hub within Asia, opening avenues for international collaboration, investment and access to new markets. It will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, bringing together leaders from FinTech, banking, NBFIs, technology and investment, alongside policymakers, government representatives, international networks and regional partners.
Visa’s Title Partnership reflects the growing role of digital payments in driving innovation, enabling commerce and broadening participation in the digital economy. Through its global network, Visa connects individuals, businesses and economies, helping make payments more secure, seamless and accessible while opening new opportunities for growth. Its participation in the festival reinforces the value of collaboration across financial institutions, technology providers, policymakers and global payment networks, to advance a more connected and inclusive digital future.
As Sri Lanka advances its digital economy ambitions, the development of secure, efficient and accessible digital payment infrastructure remains central to enabling businesses to participate in the digital economy, supporting innovation and facilitating cross-border commerce. Partnerships with global payment networks such as Visa can contribute to knowledge exchange, industry collaboration and the exploration of opportunities to strengthen Sri Lanka’s position within the regional and global digital economy.
Avanthi Colombage, Country Manager, Sri Lanka & Maldives, Visa, said, “At Visa, we are delighted to partner with the Sri Lanka FinTech Festival, a forum that reflects our shared ambition to advance the country’s payments ecosystem and digital economy. We see this as a meaningful opportunity for the wider industry to come together — combining global expertise, local insight and technological capabilities to build secure, inclusive and future-ready payment infrastructure. This collaboration will help unlock innovation and enable more businesses and communities to participate in the digital economy, supporting Sri Lanka’s long-term growth.”
The two-day festival will feature a series of high-impact engagements designed to foster dialogue, collaboration and business opportunities across the FinTech ecosystem. The programme will commence on 2nd November with CEOs Night, an exclusive gathering of senior stakeholders, including banking and FinTech CEOs, members of the FinTech Forum Board and Advisory Council, distinguished speakers, sponsors and government representatives.
The main event at the Festival, the Sri Lanka FinTech Expo, will take place on 3rd November as a full-day, ticketed programme, bringing together industry participants to explore emerging technologies, market developments and opportunities shaping the future of financial services. The festival will conclude with FinTech Night, a networking reception and celebration featuring the FinTech Awards, bringing together festival participants, invited guests and dedicated Night-Only ticket holders.
