Sanasa Life Insurance PLC has appointed Mr. Puvendran Gajendra as their new Chairman, effective Wednesday, 19 June 2024.<\/p>\n
Mr. Gajendra has been a board member and functioned as an independent Director since 2019. His background is based on accountancy. A highly accomplished professional in his field Mr. Gajendra specializes in audits, financial accounting, taxation, and secretarial services. His specialization extends even further to include valuations, financial analysis, acquisitions, and mergers as well.<\/p>\n
Mr. Gajendra is an academic professional. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka \u2013 FCA, an Associate Member of the Institute of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA UK) \u2013 ACCA, and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka \u2013 FCMA. In addition, he is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka \u2013 FCPM and a holder of the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, awarded by the Sheffield Hallam University.
\nHis journey of success began over 2 decades ago as an audit trainee at Kanesalingam & Co – Chartered Accountants, and today he is a Managing Partner of the very same company in addition to being a board member of Sansa Life Insurance PLC. Mr Gajendra\u2019s extensive exposure to all forms of accounting processes, audits, as well as management accounting, has provided him with a wealth of knowledge of company operations, strategic development, and overall growth strategies.<\/p>\n
His views on meeting challenges for the future include investing in value-added tech innovations such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) to carry out processes such as data mining that will provide accurate information on factual figures, and financial predictions.<\/p>\n
This data will be incorporated into actionable tasks to reach untapped market potential within lesser-reached communities such as farmers and fishing communities. According to Mr. Gajendra, this segment of society is largely unaware of the benefits that life insurance provides to them.<\/p>\n
