Dreamron marks 17th graduation with more than 1,200 beauty professionals
Dreamron College of Art and Beauty marked its 17th graduation ceremony on August 10, with more than 1,200 students receiving qualifications in hairdressing and beauty-related disciplines at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH).
The graduation brought together students who completed programmes including the NVQ Level 4 Hairdressing and Beauty Culture qualification, the Diploma in Hairdressing and Beauty Culture and the NTT Hair Cutting programme. The event highlighted the growing role of vocational and professional education in preparing young people for careers within Sri Lanka’s beauty and personal care industry.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the education and vocational training sectors, alongside senior officials and academics. Among the distinguished guests was Professor Renuka Herath, Associate Dean, Faculty of Business – Information Management, SLIIT. Dr. Priyanka Perera, Chairman Dreamron Group of companies, Ms. Nisha Perera, Directress Dreamron Group of Companies and Head of Dreamron College of Art & Beauty, Dr Kishu Gomes, Managing Director & Group CEO and Representatives of the National Institute of Technical Education and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) also participated.
For Dreamron, the latest graduation represents another stage in its efforts to develop professionally trained personnel for the country’s beauty industry. The institution currently operates a network of 10 branches across Sri Lanka, providing students with opportunities to pursue vocational training in hairdressing and beauty culture.
The college has also marked two decades of activity in the beauty education sector. According to the institution, more than 20,000 students have received training through its programmes over the past 20 years, with graduates going on to contribute to the beauty industry both in Sri Lanka and overseas.
The latest batch of graduates adds to that expanding pool of trained professionals at a time when vocational education is increasingly being viewed as an alternative pathway into employment and entrepreneurship.
The institution says its programmes are designed to provide students with practical skills alongside formal qualifications, enabling them to enter the beauty and personal care sector with recognised professional training.
The 17th graduation therefore represents more than the completion of another academic cycle. For the graduates, it marks the transition from vocational training to professional careers, while for the wider industry it adds another cohort of trained personnel to a sector that continues to provide employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
With its network of branches and more than two decades of activity, Dreamron says it will continue its focus on developing skilled professionals and supporting the growth of Sri Lanka’s beauty industry.
